Pipes don't check the clock before they fail. Our trucks run routes off State Road 7 and I-95, giving us a straight shot into Hollywood's older streets when a homeowner needs someone on-site fast, not tomorrow.
Hollywood's housing stock skews older than most of the neighboring cities we serve, and that age shows up on our service calls before we ever mention it to the homeowner. Once we know roughly when a block was built, we already have a good guess about what's inside the walls. This is a city built in three layers: the 1925 founding core, the boom of the 1950s and 1960s, and the beach and inland work of the 1970s and 1980s.
Hollywood is also the only city on this list whose original core sits on the barrier island. In 33019 more than half the homes are in buildings of fifty units or more, meters from the Broadwalk, with a saline water table practically at slab level. A leak under the floor of a house on the lakes mixes straight into that brackish water and doesn't surface until it has already washed out the fill underneath. That is why we listen and pressure-test before anyone opens a floor.

Joseph W. Young incorporated the town on 28 November 1925 and the lakes were dredged by hand that same decade, so this is the oldest stock in the group: galvanized supply, cast iron drains. Steel that's been carrying water for fifty-plus years rusts from the inside out long before anyone notices from the outside. That's the recurring story we run into around town: pressure that keeps fading, water with a rust tint, and a pinhole leak that shows up in a ceiling with zero warning. In Hollywood Lakes, the lots are tight and the older homes near the water make those galvanized runs hard to reach without a plumber who's mapped that access before.
Cast iron under the slab with sixty to seventy years on it, and this is Hollywood's structural problem. The numbers: 33020 averages a 1969 build year, its 1950s peak holding 6,984 homes and the 1960s adding 4,102; 33021 peaks in the 1960s at 6,474 with the 1970s almost level at 6,403; Driftwood and Boulevard Heights over in 33024 are 1950s and 1960s ranches. Head inland to Emerald Hills and the pattern repeats: mid-century pipe nearing the end of its usable life. A patch job there is often just delaying the inevitable, and once we've traced two or three failures on the same line, we'll tell you straight that a full repipe is the smarter spend.
West 33021, the 33023 and a good part of the beach high-rise stock fall inside the window. That grey supply pipe went in between 1978 and 1995, and chlorine in city water degrades the plastic from the inside until it flakes and splits, usually at a fitting. It was the subject of the Cox v. Shell Oil class action and today no insurer wants to see it in a report. Out toward Hollywood Hills, catching problems early makes the biggest difference, since a small leak found today skips the drywall repair bill next month.
Round-the-clock calls for burst pipes, flooding, and homes left without water.
See emergency service →Swapping out failing galvanized lines for good in Hollywood's older homes, and grey polybutylene where the 1980s stock still has it.
See repiping →Tackling the aging cast iron drain lines common under Hollywood's older lots.
See cast iron work →Finding the hidden drip before it costs you a ceiling or a floor.
See leak detection →Locating and fixing main line breaks and backups before they spread.
See sewer line repair →Cutting through grease, roots, and buildup so drains actually move again.
See drain cleaning →Our advantage getting there fast comes down to geography: staging between State Road 7 and I-95 lets us reach the eastern lakes side and the western hills without getting stuck crossing the whole city first. The same yard covers these cities too, each with its own page and its own pipe problem.

Corroded galvanized pipe in an Emerald Hills kitchen or a burst supply line near Hollywood Lakes, we handle both the same way: pick up the phone, get a truck moving, give you an honest answer on-site.
